Dr. Nastasi is a board-certified physician in Psychiatry, Interventional Pain Management, and Addiction Medicine. He serves as the Supervising Psychiatrist for Nu Leaf Mental Health’s Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, providing clinical oversight and guidance to our team.
Dr. Nastasi is currently a Veteran’s Administration (VA) practitioner and serves as the Chief of the VISN 9 Clinical Resource Hub TelePain Section. In this role, he oversees a multispecialty team dedicated to rehabilitating veterans and improving quality of life for those suffering from chronic pain. He also serves as the VISN 9 Pain Consultant.
He has extensive experience providing outpatient care through Telehealth (Telepsychiatry) and has previously served as Medical Director of an inpatient psychiatric and addiction services hospital.
Dr. Nastasi earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical University. He completed his Transitional Year in Johnson City, NY. He began his residency training in Anesthesia before transferring to Psychiatry, where he completed his residency, served as Co-Chief Resident, and subsequently completed a fellowship in Interventional Pain Management at SUNY Upstate Medical University.

Outside of his professional work, he enjoys spending time with his family and two dogs. He also trains for triathlons and enjoys surfing.
