Joseph Girges is a licensed therapist offering therapy for Anxiety, Depression, Stress, and Life Transitions. Anxiety and depression can make it difficult to feel present, connected, or confident in your next step. You may find yourself overthinking, feeling emotionally drained, struggling in your relationships, or wondering why the same patterns keep repeating. Therapy can provide a supportive space to understand what is happening, develop practical ways to cope, and begin feeling more like yourself again.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship and family concerns, and a desire to better understand themselves. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in authentic connection. I want therapy to feel like a place where you can speak openly, feel understood, and work through difficult experiences without judgment.
Together, we will explore the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that may be keeping you stuck while also building practical skills you can use outside of sessions. I tailor therapy to your individual needs, drawing from evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
My interest in psychology began at a young age as I tried to understand why people think, feel, and behave the way they do. Over time, I came to recognize that many of the answers we are searching for already exist within us—we may simply need the right support to uncover them. This belief continues to shape the way I practice therapy today.
I was born and raised in Southern California by Egyptian immigrant parents. Growing up in a diverse community, along with my love of travel and experiencing different cultures, has helped me appreciate the many ways identity, family, relationships, and life experiences shape our mental health. I earned my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego.
My goal is to meet you where you are and help you move forward with greater clarity, resilience, and self-understanding. You do not have to work through everything alone.
