Sarah Lieva

I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who works from a relational, attachment based, and psychodynamic framework while integrating evidence based interventions. I have experience working in substance use treatment settings and am familiar with the complexities of addiction, recovery, and co-occurring mental health concerns.

I enjoy working with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Many of the clients I work with feel stuck in patterns of overthinking, emotional overwhelm, self criticism, or cycles related to substance use, and are seeking both insight and practical ways to move forward.

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, humanistic, and grounded in curiosity and compassion. I value using logic, facts, and evidence based strategies to help clients better understand their thoughts and emotions, while also honoring the deeper emotional and relational experiences that shape them. I often draw from attachment theory and psychodynamic principles to explore patterns, alongside structured interventions that support stability and change.

I bring a culturally responsive and affirming lens to my work and value creating a space where clients of diverse identities feel understood and respected. As a therapist who identifies as Hispanic and a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am especially mindful of how culture, identity, and lived experience can influence healing.

As a therapist, my style is warm, thoughtful, and engaged. I aim to meet clients where they are and create a safe, nonjudgmental space where meaningful work can happen at a pace that feels supportive, respectful, and honest.
